Joris Iven (°1954, Belgium) poet and translator, has published several volumes of poetry: Gallery The Yew (1987), Egyptian Black (1993), Split us (1994), Parchment/Testament (2001), (2005). He has translated poetry of the Turkish poet Nazîm Hikmet, the Moroccan poets Abdellatif Laâbi and Tahar Ben Jelloun, the Indian poetess Sujata Bhatt, the American poets Raymond Carver, Tess Gallagher, Charles Simic, and many others. All poems by JORIS IVEN, in this poetry collection, are translated from Dutch into English by JOHN IRONS (Denmark).
